Pacific Psychology Conference: Friday, December 7, 2018

University of Victoria – David Lam Auditorium (MAC A 144)

Presented by Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry

The Pacific Psychology Conference was founded in 2017 by two high school students who noticed the lack of acknowledgement of psychology in the high school curriculum.

Psychology falls in that gray area between social sciences and so-called “hard sciences” like biology, chemistry, and physics. Some people can tend to not take psychology as seriously as these “hard sciences” because of popular representation and the unpredictable nature of the human psyche. This is unfortunate; psychology is arguably one of the fastest-growing and most widely applicable areas of scientific research.

This is where the Pacific Psychology Conference comes in. Attendees of the Pacific Psychology Conference will have the opportunity to listen to lectures by professionals in the field, ask questions and synthesize new ideas with their peers, participate in discussion with a panel of psychology students and experts, and explore the many career paths a psychologist can take.
